Why PFAD Fits So Well, Yet is So Different
(A little about what we do...)
Welcome to Pagosa Fine Arts and Design. We welcome you to browse through our Art and Illustration Galleries as well as our Gallery of Guest Artists for incredible eye candy, which is available for purchase to you - either as originals or as giclée prints on a variety of incredible mediums. Developed by founder and veteran fine artist, Sabine Baeckmann-Elge*, PFAD not only offers original fine art, but also a high-end, quality art print/giclée service that offers you over 25 years of hands-on experience. At Pagosa Fine Arts and Design, we realize that not only is there value in high quality art prints, but we insist on offering you that quality with affordable rates to allow you to market and sell your prints at a reasonable price.
Just a few notes about our services. Giclée printing is a unique, finely-tuned process that has become the method of choice by museums and fine art galleries around the world for fine art reproduction. Since they make their money with their presses, giclée is only an afterthought with most traditional printing companies. Our experience and knowledge in fine art reproduction, allows us to include unique services that are essential to beautiful art prints, that most traditional printing companies do not offer. Only need a few prints--a small run? No problem! No expensive pre-press charges, no costly press set up charges, or large print runs just to keep it "economical." What an incredibly affordable way to start a limited edition run of your work! But wait, there's more!
Traditionally, giclée prints are done with archival-quality inks on fine art papers or acid-free canvas. Obviously, PFAD offers these media for your art reproductions. However, in addition to traditional media, we also offer a line of other products of equal quality, on which to print your work. Try our Natural-Fiber Textiles - silk, chiffon, denim, poplin, satin charmeuse, organza, cotton twill, for example - Fabrics that offer you an incredible array of art marketing opportunities!
We will scan your slide or 2x3, 4x5 or 8x10 transparencies for the optimal clarity and color for your giclée prints. Also, we offer professional color adjustment and correction, as well as make digital corrections for flaws in your film or slide. This is an important part of what we do, since our goal is to provide you with a beautiful, marketable print that is as close to the original as possible.
We also accept hi-resolution files from digital artists, and offer the same services for these files as we do for scanned images. And, of course, all of these applications and marketing opportunities are available to photographers as well. Fine photographic papers are available for giclée prints, including high gloss, semi-gloss, and matte. And of course, any photograph may be printed on our featured Natural-Fiber Textiles as well.
In addition, PFAD can provide you with a CD of your scan if you wish, both in hi-res format and in a web-friendly low-res file. Files are provided in TIFF and JPEG format. Of course, we always keep a back-up copy of your hi-res image on our server for your future orders.
And for your marketing benefit, we encourage all of our artists to no only allow us to showcase your art on our On-line Gallery, but also to link your website with ours. This will allow both the client and PFAD to offer website visitors greater access to not only additional works by our clients, but to be able to order prints online automatically. What an incredible marketing opportunity. For more details on how to take advantage of this unique opportunity, please contact our webmaster at:
